Alissa and Steve met me at Hoover Reservoir Park for their fall engagement session. It was THE perfect fall day full of sunshine and stunning fall colors! We started the evening with some pictures with their sweet fur babies. Then walked around Hoover Reservoir talking the evening away. Seriously, these two are such genuine souls and I had SO much fun spending the evening with them!

Steve’s 30th birthday was in early August. The weekend of his birthday was the same weekend most of Alissa’s family was in town for her niece’s 1st birthday party. So Alissa told him she was throwing him a party, but it would have to be the next weekend since her family was in town. Alissa remembers that week leading up to the weekend Steve was so bummed that they weren’t celebrating his birthday that weekend. She said it broke her heart but she knew that meant she would really be surprising him.

They went to Alissa’s mom’s house across town to celebrate with her family niece. Alissa told Steve that she had to take her friend Nicole’s dog out since her and her husband were away at a wedding for the day. They left the birthday party early and she dropped Steve at home and “went to Nicole’s house.”

But she actually went over to party city to get balloons blown up. Since there was a LONG wait time, she bought a helium tank and took it to the resident lounge at their apartment to blow up the balloons and set up decorations. Her mom then came with the food and her brother (and his family) came with the ice and her dad came to help decorate. Slowly they got it all set up and then Alissa went home to change because they were “going to dinner” to celebrate Steve’s birthday.

Finally Alissa received texts from everyone that they were in the room so she took Steve to “get coffee” from the lounge and totally surprised him. During the party Steve took her brother back to their apartment to retrieve the engagement ring. Then he asked her Dad for his blessing (and he said yes) and talked to both of their families. He came in and asked for a photo of everyone together celebrating. Once everyone was in place he bent down on his knee and proposed to Alissa!! She was VERY surprised! She totally did not expect that as it was his big day of celebration for HIM! She of course said YES and was so thankful to have her whole family there to celebrate!

Congratulations Alissa and Steven. I can’t wait to celebrate with you both next October at Pinnacle Golf Club!
