I met Cheyenne and DJ for their early fall engagement session at Summerfield Farms last Friday! We had the absolute perfect evening full fo sunshine and whole lot of laughs and jokes! I had the best time hanging out with Cheyenne and DJ. They are so sweet together and I loved how ready to laugh and have fun they were. Cheyenne had the cutest outfit choices and her hair and makeup were goalsss! DJ was cracking me up with his jokes and kept coming up with all the amazing pose ideas. Seriously one of my favorite pictures of the night was his idea!

Cheyenne and DJ are high school sweethearts! After a long, persistent chase from DJ Cheyenne finally agreed to give him a chance over 5 years ago. Their families are also very familiar with each other in the farming business. DJ’s great grandfather actually sold Cheyenne’s father his first calf when he was six years old! Let’s just say, both families were VERY excited when these two started dating!

Their first date was actually on the Fourth of July in 2014. They had been texting all summer before school started back. Cheyenne was at her family friend’s lakehouse for the holiday. She was texting him complaining about how they didn’t have any fireworks, and she was so upset about it. About an hour and a half later, DJ showed up to their cookout with fireworks unannounced. Cheyenne says she really believe she fell in love with him then and there. “He is the type that sees and listens constantly, always anticipating my every need and surprising me with things I didn’t even know I asked for.” Ahh how sweet is that?!

Cheyenne and DJ’s proposal story is very simple and sweet. They bought their first home that they worked so hard for in July of this year. DJ invited some of their camera savvy friends over to take housewarming pictures for their families. Little did she know he had another plan! Their friend had them pose back to back in the prettiest spot of their backyard. When Cheyenne turned around DJ was on on knee. She was totally surprised and of course said “YES!”
