Engagement session at North Carolina Museum of Art. Raleigh Engagement session

I had the best time spending the evening with Layla and Adam for their engagement session this past Sunday! We met first at the adorable Heirloom Coffee and Tea Sake in Raleigh. Which by the way was probably the coolest little coffee shop I’ve ever been to. It was filled with modern decor and natural light! Then we made our way to the North Carolina Museum of Art and enjoyed the most beautiful sun soaked evening together! You guys I am talking an evening filled with all the glowy sunset light us photographers dream about! I truly had so much fun spending the evening with them talking and laughed the evening away These two are so dang perfect together and such kind souls!

Layla and Adam met at their sixth grade orientation! When they found out they had all their classes together, they quickly became friends. Throughout the years they got even closer. If they weren’t hanging out at school, they were texting each other from home. They were seriously BEST FRIENDS. However, all of Adam’s attempts to make Layla more than just a friend were shot down because she was friendzoning him HARD… for years! But the man is persistent and Layla finally decided to give him a chance at the end of their sophomore year of high school. And the rest is history!

Adam proposed last June at JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh with the help of one of Layla’s best friends! Her friend was moving to Minnesota in a few weeks. So her and Layla had made plans to take pictures together before she left. They asked Adam to be their cameraman, so he tagged along. After Layla and her bestie had gotten all their pictures together, she asked if Layla wanted a few pictures with Adam. Layla of course agreed! It turns out that was a part of the plan. As she was pretending to snap photos, she was actually filming and Adam got down on one knee and asked Layla to marry him! Layla of course said YES!!!

I truly could not be happier for you Adam and Layla! And I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with you at your wedding in July! Until then, enjoy my favorites from your session!
